Thankful colors

I spent Thanksgiving with my family in Seattle. We ate good food, went to the movies, and just hung out. It was nice to be less busy. And I came home with all sorts of treats and goodness!
My mom loves hummingbirds, and has feeders up. We had numerous visitors.

For Amy: Light

These are all pictures in which I like the play of light, mostly taken within the last year.
To warm us up during the dark months!

Anticipation

The potted 'Fall Mix' outside my door.
I like this picture. Their faces are turned away, anticipating sun.

In between other obligations, I'm finishing up a new song today. I like that feeling: being in the middle of some homework or other tedious task, and knowing there's a song waiting there to be completed. It's an idea hovering in the air around me all day. Or like a box of cookies I know is waiting in the cupboard for me. Haha!
Maybe I'll bake cookies today... (holla, Karen D!)

Excuse to stay warm and cozy

I'm sick today - but part of me is secretly pleased. It gives me an excuse to stay warm inside, snuggle in the pillows on the couch, warm my insides up with chamomile tea (with honey of course), listen to music, and just be calm and still. So I took these pictures.

Thank you

I was struggling a bit earlier today, mulling some things over in my head. In the midst of angst, a number of good things happened. Mostly little bits from people I love, which added up to something big.

I just want to say Thank You to everyone. Really. I have very wise, kind, non-judgemental, loving friends and family. Good people. I'm so grateful you are all in my life!

Life is life. It happens, good and bad. We bounce back.
And that is where the music comes from.

A rose in November

Wild Rose in E.E. Wilson

Finished recording "Don't leave" tonight. The words are heavy with emotion for me, so I felt a little more conscious of them as I sang them tonight. But I just love the studio. I love the look, the smell of the wood, the atmosphere, Sam's magic ability to command the sound equipment, and the way the sound envelopes.

/contented sigh... If I could physically wrap my arms around Wild Rose Studios and give it a big hug, I would.
p.s. 99 fans on fb?? Awesome! ...who will be #100? I think they should get a prize. ha.

Orange glow

This morning is such an absolutely gorgeous morning! Clear skies, bright sun, with some appropriately placed misty bits. The sun is lighting up all the oranges and reds, making them glowy, which makes me feel warmer.

Basking

I'm energized and antsy. I was so excited I just ran out and took a few pictures. I might hunt down a big pile of leaves to roll around in.

Good day to be practicing for tomorrow night's session.
